If your business is already approved by the USDA to accept in-person SNAP (except Farmers’ Market Store Types), you can apply for Online SNAP approval. See USDA’s list of Store Types here.
If you have some in-person sales but don’t yet accept SNAP, you must first get USDA approval for in-person SNAP (“brick-and-mortar authorization”) before applying to accept Online SNAP. Learn more about the brick-and-mortar SNAP Retailer approval process here.
Be sure to include your business name, business address, and FNS number in the email.
- Credit model: Credit is earned on SNAP payments to use on a future transaction toward SNAP-match eligible items.
- Customizable discount model: SNAP Match eligible items are discounted using a discount code for customers paying with their SNAP benefits.
Step 2: Get your LFM store setup (our team will help with this).
Step 3: Get a Forage account setup — the LFM team will direct you to the right contact person.
Step 4: Submit an LOI to FNS (LFM & Forage team will provide information — this can be done concurrently with getting your store setup).
Step 5: Prep your online store for production testing with FNS (LFM & Forage team will provide guidance).
Step 6: Production Testing and approval by FNS.
Step 7: You’re live!
