Our overall vision with every project we do is about increasing opportunities for farmers. Since 2009, Local Food Marketplace has been offering streamlined ways for farms and food hubs to sell and manage their orders through our flagship Marketplace platform. With online ordering for farms well established and becoming more complicated with selling into more stores, it’s time to streamline things so farms can continue to diversify their sales without the overhead of managing dozens of apps and accounts. Connect is a next generation solution for farms – integrating with our Marketplaces, other online stores, and future sales opportunities.

Ease the process of selling online in multiple stores

Prior to the pandemic, selling online in multiple stores was not common for many farmers. As things continue to shift, more and more farmers are turning to multiple online stores for sales. Connect is designed to make it easy to sell in more online stores without the admin burden of managing multiple inventories. Currently, farms can use Connect to manage inventory for all LFM hosted stores and will soon allow farms to manage Square stores too.

What about in-person sales, like the farmers market?

When selling online and in-person, managing inventory can be a chore. This is where Connect comes in! Sell items through Square POS at the farmers market, your shop, events, and more and easily keep your inventory for your online stores up to date, while tracking what you sold at each market.

One place for the entire farm team

Often farms use a manually pieced together system for managing availability, harvest and pack lists that rarely connect with each other. Connect keeps the farm team connected and in one system for all sales – online and in-person.

Dynamic harvest & pack lists

For farms selling in multiple online stores in addition to farmers markets and other in-person outlets, there is considerable effort to consolidate information from multiple sources to create harvest and pack lists to cover all sales. Connect does the work for you! Our streamlined platform decreases admin time and human error to increase bottom lines.

Payments

Getting paid and tracking what you’ve been paid for has long been a challenge for farms – which is exacerbated by selling into multiple online stores. In Q1 2022, LFM will enable food hubs and farmers markets using LFM to automate payment to its producers through Connect. Connect will also integrate with Square terminal for processing payments for in person orders.

Making good decisions means having good and accessible data. Connect is designed to pull all of the data into one place so you can make better decisions about how to harvest for your market, what markets to attend, how much to plant for each of your sales channels next year, and so much more.
